It was once reported how Benita’s father was hospitalized at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja and how his health has deteriorated. The man otherwise known as Ben King is still not having the best of health, as he was recently transferred from LASUTH to a private specialist hospital around Agric Road, Iju Fagba, a Lagos suburb. The man who was said to have been battling stroke, now moves on a wheel chair with the help of a nurse. “His health has really worsened, he needs help to do everything he does and we are praying fervently for his survival” a close source said.

We decided to pay a visit to the sick man, but we were shielded by nurses on duty who said we can only see him on the authorization of his wife or children. A strong source however confirmed to us at the hospital that indeed, Mr. Benjamin is admitted there and it is true he is also on wheel chair. He however said he is not sure about when the singer’s father will be discharged as his health still needs a lot of medical attention, while disclosing his wife pays him a visit occasionally, unlike the way he was abandoned when he first fell ill.
