Oando Oil, CONOIL, African Petroleum and MRS Oil are among the powerful players in the petroleum sector that have shared over N3.655 trillion between 2006 and September 2011 in pursuit of importation of refined petroleum products.
This was revealed today in Abuja by the Nigerian Senate joint Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Appropriation and Finance.
Senator Magnus Ibe, the chairman of the committee, also disclosed that some 100 companies in the downstream sector and in construction, shared over N1.426 trillion between January and August 2011 alone.
Oando Oil is owned by Wale Tinubu, Mike Adenuga owns CONOIL, Femi Otedola owns AP, while MRS Oil is run by Aliko Dangote's brother, Sayyu Dantata. Other key players named today include Pinaccle Construction Ltd, as well as Integrated Oil and Gas, which is owned by a former Minister of the Interior, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho.

ReplyDeleteI don't see Jide Omokore's SPOG on the list. Anyway, the man owns so many "shell" oil companies it could be any of those listed. Jide Omokore is one of the biggest oil fraudsters. He is said to be engaged in round tripping of oil products, which is the process whereby unscrupulous oil importers present the same cargo of oil to receive subsidy payments, more than once, or get oil from Nigerian refineries and present falsified papers claiming that its imported oil, so they can collect subsidy payments from the FG. Meanwhile, Madam Diezani Alison-Madueke (aka the holder of GEJ's balls)is also shouting about cartel abi? Is she not teh godmother of oil cartels? She should explain how she signed off 55% of NNPC's interest in some of the oil blocks Shell divested, which NNPC had assigned to its subsidiary NPDC, in May 2011, on the last day of her tenure as Minister before she was later re-appointed. She should also explain the "sweetheart deal" she has with Chris Aire - oil blocks for jewels. The jewelry we see are wearing casually everyday are not costume or panda. They are real expensive stones and diamonds. Her relationship with him dates back to her tenure as Mines and Steel Minister. Chris Aire is now the proud owner of two oil blocks. From diamonds to oil baron. How nice for him! Hmmm! Yeye dey smell o!!!!
