The aircraft with registration number 5N-SRI was coming from Uyo with 86 passengers on board, but was forced to have an emergency landing due to the discovery of a hydraulic pressure by the pilot while the aircraft was still in the airspace.
No casualty was recorded.

Thank God. I always pray hard whenever I have to board a flight especially in Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteThank God it ended well.
ReplyDeleteCould this be due to lack of maintenance?
ReplyDeleteGod is great. Imagine almost wasting 86 lives. Fathers, mothers, sons, daughters including bread winners. God is good.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't they change their old planes.

ReplyDeleteOur planes and emergency landing smh
ReplyDeletewow!!! wow!!! this flight left just before mine yesterday! ben bruce n my pastor n my friends were onit!!! thank God oooo!!! ha!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the sentiments expressed by all. But isn't it great to know that our pilots are capable of handling emergencies like the ‘loss of hydraulic pressure’ experienced on the Dana Air aircraft yesterday (which, frankly speaking, could happen with any aircraft in any part of the world)? If, like the Dana Air crew, all airlines continue to adhere to the safety management systems put in place our airspace will always remain safe for us all.
ReplyDeleteEmergency means an unsuspected and sudden event that requires urgent action...kudos to the Smart Dana Air pilot who noticed and apply professionalism to avert what would have been a sad story to all....this happens all over the world, Nigeria is not an exception. thanks
ReplyDeleteNow two weeks after same aircraft has finally crashed and along with it the futures of 153 people. I really hope there will be an investigation and criminal prosecution if indeed Dana management insisted the plane fly despite the flight manager's warnings.
