what is really up with all these people always complaining about Genevieve, Rita et al not getting married?! How in the world is tht affecting u or making ur life fulfilling?! Before u go in on me...i am 26 yrs old and engaged to be married next summer...so no, i am not empathizing.
Do y'all not see how people rush into marriage and rush out of it? or people who marry for all the wrong reasons end up regretting? or people who marry to please people like u end up unhappy?! Im so tired of always having to read comments about marriage every time there is a post on Genevieve and Rita. Has it also occurred to u all that they do not want to be married?! Yes, not everyone is desperate to get married to keep up with the joneses...perhaps they are content the way they are or just haven't found the right guy and are not willing to settle.
Before i met my fiance...i went thru that whole phase of looking out for the right man and getting frustrated over not finding someone compatible, but never was i gonna be willing to settle...even when men with great prospects came along. There are things u can compromise on in marriage, but there are things that are not even up for discussion...unfortunately many of us settle and jump on the marriage band wagon just to "show" and "belong"...but then end up unhappy or divorced. Is that better? Marriage is not beans o!....and God willing, i don't want a divorce cha cha....so i'm being extra careful. I'm learning from wise predecessors cos even a relationship alone is hard talk-less of marriage.
Whatever their reasons are for staying single...leave them alone biko! Its not like many of u are happy in ur own homes or know what ur spouse is doing behind ur back! Marriage does not fulfill...only God does! it is not a sin to be unmarried either.
