Bayelsa State To Immortalize General Sani Abacha

To mark the 16th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State, the state government has announced its decision to immortalise late General Sani Abacha.

It has concluded plans to lay the foundation stone for a 150 duplex housing estate which would be named after late General Abacha whose government created Bayelsa State as Head of State on the 1st of October, 1996. Governor Seriake Dickson announced the decision yesterday in his broadcast to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the creation of the State and the 52nd independence of the country.

According to Governor Dickson, government in partnership with the Ijaw National Congress (INC), has christened the main auditorium of the INC secretariat after General Abacha as well as invite the family of the late General to be part of the celebration and also plant a memorial tree in his honour.

    Bayelsa is proving to be the most comedic state in Nigeria.

    Here's a note from someone on Facebook on the same topic;

    Bayelsa state has produced the most unbelievable and clueless governors in this country so far. From a thieving, transvestite Alamieyesigha, to a clueless GEJ and now a Dickson that appoints a barely literate sitting First Lady, who resides in far away Abuja, permanent secretary (the engine room of a ministry)of a state ministry in Bayelsa. Nothing more can shock me again so long as it comes from a Bayelsa governor. The only good thing that has come out of Bayelsa that I know of are oil and gas, the Murray-Bruce brothers and Samson Siasia. My apologies to other honest and well meaning Bayelsans.

    The commentator forgot to mention TimiPREY Sylva. Which way Bayelsa?

  10. Power corrupts and ultimate power corrupts ultimately! SD is power drunk!!

    In his mind he will be saying thank God for Abacha, if not we would not have been noticed and we would still be sucked up and swallowed by the Riverians.

    After 16 years of creation what developments have these politicians done in Bayelsa? All they do is loot endlessly.

    Let's see what the other five states created at the same time will do. I guess they will stay silent.

    I saw what you did with Timi's name and that's so lol worthy! I guess he was forgotten since he is markedly different from the rest; is far more sensible, has a spine and doesn't look like an hippopothamus:D

    I guess every bad child has his good moment(s) and this was one of Abacha's. *shrugs*
