Gt Da Guitarman Blasts Former Boss… Tells Him to Grow Up

A lot of us missed this tweet. This is it. GT was formerly with Storm Records which was headed by Obi Asika and Olisa Adibua before Olisa recently backed out. GT claims that one of them an OAP has refused to play his songs on air. Why am I even interpreting for him? Here is what the singer tweeted;

"As ma radio presenter former boss no wan gree play my song for station wey no be him papa own. Grow up boss."

Though Gt Da Guitarman didn't mention any names, but fingers are pointed at a clear direction.

  4. Imma former employee of storm records, so lemi tell u guys how these goats work. All the artistes that where ever signed at any point in time under Storm, have all left becos one thing remains constant...Storm are users! All they know how to do is make noise all over town like they're running tinz...fa fa fa foul! They don't have shishi! All na mouth, all na wash!

    The company rides on Naeto C's fame bcos the boy uses his OWN family money to run his career. And bcos Naeto is a successful artiste, ppl automatically think its Storm helping his success. And that is why when ppl get signed into Storm, they leave afterwards when they see that Naeto uses his own money and Obi them have no hand in his success.

    Naeto is related to Obi so he can NEVER leave Storm. He is basically doing Obi a favour asper 'my bros my bros' kinda thing. And many ppl don't know Naeto has his own record label on the side (Crios Music), he just attaches Storm's name to his music for sake of say 'Obi na my bros'. Obi Asika and Storm don't have any concrete platform for any artiste. So if you're a new artiste abeg don't bother or waste ur time signing with them. It took poor GT so many years to gather balls to leave becos his life got worse after he signed to Storm.

    So my advise to anyone who still intends to go to Storm to be signed...SHINE ya EYE! Ikechukwu left, Darey left, Sauce kid, Jazzman, Illbliss, General Pype, GT, and so many more...all of them left becos they went in there broke and came out broker! Lol.

    Imma dude and i worked with these Storm niggaz for years and I would have revealed more, its jst that Ladun might not post. So lemi jst leave y'all with this small info. Ladun pls post this coz one of the artistes they messed up was my dawg. Dem niggaz messed up my hommies career mehn. I don't want same thing that happened to my boi to happen to som'n else. So my post is like a warning to peeps.

    I'm a first timer btw, Ladun. Ur blog rocks (even tho am a dude, Lol)

  8. the guy himself is guilty of the same offence he is a celeb and he could have handled it better by getting in touch with the lebanese owners of the radio stations and sorted it with them
    making noise with olisa adibua won't achieve much and cause needless headache

  11. @Shine Ya Eye, is that how it is over there? Little wonder. I've always wondered about this GT fellow. The guy is really really good yet people hardly know him. No one hears his songs or even sees him. Never liked that Olisa of an agbaya. GT better find his way to a decent record coy and hustle for himself.

  17. I have always felt Storm is that place where you go to launch your career, get known and be relevant but not the place to stay. Obi is always busy with all kinds of stuff; he makes a lot of money from all those partnerships, his artistes take home whatever comes their way. He should find a way to partner with bigger record labels like Sony, UMG etc. His leverage is that he knows how to get his artistes out there (Sasha, Naeto, Ikechukwu, Gt, Gen. pype, darey, Jazzman Olofin) and so far imho, no record label in Nigeria has been able to rival Storm in that regard.

    That said, GT, you are one damn fine artist. The fact that so many people still remember you at all is a testament to this fact, so please do not let one man (read Middle Aged Nitwit) control your destiny/ be under any sort of illusion that he can. Get off your butt brother and work for your success. Push out your best works for free (That's how I knew Eva and Frank Ocean). Use the social media to your advantage, Youtube your songs, studio times etc. (I used to be hooked on Ryan Leslie's Youtube page watching him make great beats/music in the studio), Tweet about it, Get someone like Don J or even Tonto to tweet about it. Get that interview done at BN, thenetng, Primetime. Give out your best at NotJustOk, 360nobs etc. All these are free. You don't have to spend a dime. Build relationships with your fans on twitter, with colleagues (cover their songs, get them to cover yours), with influential OAPs (Toolz, Omalicha, Gbemi etc.). Be out there, be everywhere, dominate the industry. Stop whining and grow up in the business, boss!

  19. @Fatimah abeg 4get that tin wey u yarn. I agree with @SHINEyaEYE to the fullest. Obi Asika, Olisah, Tola Odunsi are the ones that run Storm. All they do is go abt town making empty noises and popping champagne on CREDIT. They aint got nada! And nigerians like to fall for those kinds of ppl...ppl who are very showy showy trying to cling to the rich names to make themselves look rich, that's all they are. When u work with these ppl or have any affiliation with them, then u'll know. They are all leeches looking for the next bait to milk to death. When they're done milking u of all u got, they'll dump u like a hot potato and move on to the next person. Storm and their two_faced way of life is only privy to those who have had an affiliation with them. And for the rest who just read abt them from a distance will be thinking "men these storm guys are balling, I go like be their friend oh". But in the words of @SHINEyaEYE fa fa fa foul...all na wash!

    @GT, I think Fatimah's second paragraph pretty much says it all. Goodluck bro!

    @Ladun, c'mon girl try dey post comments on time na. Still luv u a lot tho :)
