all 4 boys were so young , full of life and had so much to live for... it sad how their dreams have been cut such so senselessly and brutally ... My heart and prayers goes out to their family , especially their mothers . No one should ever bury their child in such a manner.

  3. This is what I've been saying. The thief angle doesn't make too much sense.

How can 5 pple go on a mission, to a local community to steal laptop and phone. These boys are students, there's a higher chance of finding those items to steal within their school.

How much could they possibly get for laptop and phone? Split 5 ways what would each of them get? These are not hungry boys. So if they would steal it wouldn't be for petty change they probably get as pocket money.

Definitely not buying they were thieves.

  6. Right! There goes 4 innocent souls! The moment I saw this boy's photo, I said to myself, it's impossible that such a handsome clean decent looking boy will steal anything! For the life of me, I can't fucking believe they did this to someone's baby! A woman's son - 9months of womanhood down the drain just like that

To say i'm speechless would be putting it mildly

  10. see our life, innocent guys killed all for nothing I'm not sure what the law is on jungle justice but for these guys death not to be for nothing i think its high time the federal lawmakers makes lynching /jungle justice a serious offence punishable by mandatory custodial sentence of at least 10-15yrs

  12. @lucabracee....Maximus wasn't generalising in terms of how nicely dressed some robbers could be. She's making reference particularly to this picture. Any one who comes across this picture would know that this boy was innocent and couldn't av condescended so low to steal laptops and phones. It isn't rocket science at all.

  13. All these pictures of the boys looking so clean miss the point! Irrespective of whether they were the ugliest, dirtiest, poorest lowlives they did not deserve to have been killed by a rabid braying pack of wolves all in the name of some warped sense of jungle justice. The crowd turned themselves into accuser, prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner! Citizens irrespective of the situation should stop taking the laws into their hands.

I pray sincerely that at the end of it all, these ones would not have died in vain. That something positive will somehow come out of this sorry mess. RIP Aluu4

Shut your dirty stinking gutter mouth shut!! How are you better than the Aluu people? Where is your evidence that they are cultists? It is people like you that will pass judgement on people without solid evidence. You & the Aluu chief will make a nice pair.

@Adele thanks jor. U made sense.

  18. Oooh God, may no male child survive in Aluu.

Don't even say they didnt steal the phone, even if they have stolen the phones which is not true.

Is it enough to kill this young and talented boys?
Even if they stole the laptops, is it enough to boo them, beat them and kill them.
Is blackberry equal to their lives?
Oo God, even as this tears roll down my eyes, may everything that cause people to breath sieze from the lives of anybody involve in this killings, be it the people who watched on, the recorder, the killers and the organiser of this evil, may they know shame and sorrow, may the blood of this young boy hunt them and may all their brothers, sisters, parent and beyond die violently

Cultist? Maybe! Seeing that a lotta people his age would join bad gangs outta curiosity sake.

What about their parents especially their mothers? If those killers walk on this earth as free men, then certainly, there is no law in the world again.

  25. Aluu is all around us. who told you they are cultist . You just assume and then give things a label its not , yet we think the problem is in ALUU.
A friend of mine a previous Cultist told me on saturday that he can say 100% SURE that these guys are not cultist , that we will see the true story come out . he said that if they were really cultist , then what happened could never have occurred, especially in a time of cellphone. Within minutues various Cults guys would have appeared and protect their own. Cult is bad and i am in no support, but that one of their foundation is to protect each other.... If a former Cult Lord can say confidently that these guys are not cultist then who are we to give them that label. (if they were , would ALUU resident have the liver to murder in broad day light)This was an unfortunate event but they are not cultist and shouldnt be called one. GET yOUR FACT RIGHTS.

It is very obvious to even the blind that this young man was innocent, because those damned villagers cannot even get there story right, one minute they are thieves the next they are armed robbers then they are cultist , please , where is the person who raised the alarm can he/she come out and tell us what exactly happened, those ignorant fustrated mobs just took out their frustrations on those innocent souls, a boy that his father has enough money to fly him to America for holiday does not need to steal a poxy mobile phone or laptop, I am on the side of the story that the person who alleged they were thieves was in fact in indebted to those young men and when they seized his belongs for their money like most of us would do in that position, him and his stupid neighbour raised a false alarm. And for teh story of oh the boys did not get their stories right or their stories did not match when questioned by the moron who they have as a village leader, my question is when a mob as fustrated and blood thirsty like the one that held those boys hold you come and judge how you could or could not tell a straight story, those boy swere starring death in the face and you expect they were thinking straight. Rubish. 46. its funny i am still yet to hear the student union govt representative in the university's stance on this issue..
we can blame the indigenes but don't forget that these guys were beaten for several hours before being set ablaze..why didn't the student union rush there and actually do something? it would have been easy for them to mobilise some students and rush to the scene they would have stopped the cold blooded executions.

accounts we read shows two of the parents rushed down to the venue of the incident but met them already dead..the student union govt/student representatives were in the same town yet parents in a different town got there before them..

we are quick to talk about change, blame politicians the wealthy e.t.c and hold them accountable but i believe while the students are calling for justice they should equally hold their student union government accountable..

their job is not to collect bribes and mobilise student votes for politicians, their primary assignment is to look out for students, and if they can't do so then they should be held accountable..

maybe i am being biased because i didn't attend higher institution in nigeria but i have seen the students union govt at work during my uni days they don't care if you are black or white, male or female if you have any grouse with the school or anyone at all they will step in and do all in their power....before holding the older generation accountable maybe we should really examine ourselves

It was early morning and it took some time before non Aluu indigenes found out what was happening and by the time they could break the Aluu barricade, the deed had been done

I'm certain no Uniport student was part of the spectator.

Every dick and Tom knows that these boys were just killed out of wickedness, Aluu or whatever is their name should know how best to cleanse their land, especially those of them who participated in the wicked killing because the blood of these boys will definitely disturb their land, maybe that is why nothing is moving well in nigeria too many innocent blood have been shed, when other country are moving forward we are going backward, today Nigerians run to Ghana to study imagine Ghana of all places, sports we are gone, no light, no job, churches every where yet there is so much wickedness, I dont know how much a human life is worth in Nigeria, the worst is that the youths who are suppose to make a change are all doing the same killing their fellow youths, if its not Boko haram today, It will be flood tomorrow, or Aluu Community everywhere bad news, God for how long are you going to forsake us, Please my people let us sincerely ask for forgiveness and change our evil ways. if the government is not doing well Must we all be bad? I dont think so , NEVER . These guys were paraded for hours , why did students rush and put an end to it . why were lecturers not called and they too could have put an end to this. Even the police were called and nothing happened. This is not the Nigeria i used to know, Nobody cares anymore. No value for life no fear of the Giver of LIFE God. we are so clouded by material things that have no meaning in life. Are we now saying Blackberry and Laptop are equivalent to a Life. where are our priorities. Very misplaced. You even see it in comments where someone is focusing on whether he had blackberry in primary school . Is that relevant . The whole thing is very disturbing

  50. Honestly their death was too too violent. It is an abomination to kill and then to kill in this longwinded manner!

One thing is to be stripped and beaten up, another thing is to be beaten to such an excess that they were not even recognisable, then to break their limbs and open their skull? all this before setting them on fire ALIVE! They were alive while in flames as i heard them groan in pain as the crowd were jubilating and saying 'die! die! die!' gosh!!!

Those watching did not even know the teenagers, say less know what crimes they committed that they give their approval to this kind of punishment! too bad!

Thank God for the ones who had cameras and videos though, they are valuable evidence today and necessary to create the awareness of extra judicial killings. :(

if you check the accounts on other blogs...one of the parents were called by an eye witness that their son was being lynched, they left their town and drove down to the scene after getting lost several times and they still met some crowd there but the boy was already dead..now the student union and student representative would have been living in the same aluu town right?
where were they the first 1 hour? then 2nd and 3rd hours? until those boys were burnt

it doesn't take more than 30minutes to mobilise 20-30 students including 2 or 3 student union reps to rush to the scene...meanwhile blackberry is there to inform others to meet them at the scene

I'm telling you the attitude of the student union is still what I'm struggling to come to terms with...when i was in uni here i was the vice president of the afro carribean society its like an organisation which has branches in every university in the united kingdom under the student union, apart from acs there are like 40 or more other organisations under the university student union govt and in spite of the fact that we are just one of several others they gave allocated money for us,we liaised directly with a senior member of the student union and we could call her at any hour of the day and she will promptly respond without complaints...

i remember a nigerian mature student in his 5th year engineering who couldn't meet up with his tuition fees for final year and the university were going to stop him from taking th exams, the student union stepped in and faced the uni...just for one african man o come and see how oyinbo were fighting for him till the university allowed the man.......

aluuu community murdered the students, but the student union student representatives were asleep on duty and not alive to their primary responsibility

  59. This story still doesn't add up. I personally don't judge based on looks. Go and look at the history of shoplifting in high end retail stores in the us...I mean saks, neimans etc..rich women buy $1200 sandals and steal $45 lipstick all the time. Now I can't confirm that these boys stole anything...neither am I totally ruling out that possibility. My cousin who was a cult Bo got shot in the same uni port.,..handsome boy, from a very comfortable home. But he was in cult. He was killed in 1999 and till today, his dad, my uncle still Swears that his son was wrongly accused of being in cult. I knew his was in cult. His friends knew. His older brother in UI knew....all but his dad still denies it. Things are not always what they seem and we will never confirm the truth about this story. I just find it utterly odd that a village full of people for some reason threw common sense out of the window and took this extreme measure. All of us shouting justic for Aluu4...do you know the truth?

On a second note I am begining to wonder if they were killed because of their songs "heart of the city" which did not potray PH in good light. Did they indict or hurt someone/some people or step on toes with that song? I just wonder why they were killed that way without help coming??

  66. I have never seen any regime as bloody as Jonathan regime
the numbers of youth that were killed mercelessly are uncountable
uptill now he has not said a word concerning Mubis' killing neithr has he said anything about Uniport killing..
I felt so pity for their lives and may God continue to protect us from this bloody regime of Jonathan.
